On May 22, 2022, 26-year-old Devante Ivory, a male of African American ethnicity, was tragically killed in a shooting incident in Dallas, Texas. Ivory was found lying on the sidewalk in the 3200 block of Jerome Street, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Two other individuals, a male and a female, were also shot and critically injured in the attack. They were promptly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The shooting occurred around 4 p.m.
on Jerome Street, near Dolphin Road and Interstate 30. According to police reports, the victims were in a vehicle when someone in another vehicle opened fire and then fled the scene. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and no suspects have been identified or arrested in connection with the crime.
Dallas police homicide detectives have been actively investigating the case and have reached out to the public for any information that could help identify the shooter or shooters. Detective Theodore Gross has been leading the investigation and has urged anyone with relevant information to come forward. Crime Stoppers has also offered a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment in the case.
The community has expressed growing concern and frustration over the increasing violence in the area.
