Ray’shun Markelle Bates, a 23-year-old African American male from Decatur, Alabama, tragically lost his life on November 9, 2024, following a shooting at the Twin Peaks restaurant in Huntsville, Alabama. The incident occurred around 10:15 p.m. after a verbal altercation between multiple individuals escalated into violence. Bates, who had been staying in Huntsville, was fatally wounded during the confrontation. Two other individuals sustained injuries and were treated at a local hospital.
