On the evening of December 1, 2016, 45-year-old Timothy Pretlow was shot and killed in Northeast Washington, D.C. The incident took place around 7:30 p.m. on the 1800 block of Capitol Avenue, NE. Pretlow was found inside a van, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead. A second man, who was also inside the van, sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
