On June 30, 2019, Christopher Payne, a 28-year-old resident of Bowie, Maryland, was found dead in the 1400 block of W Street, Northwest, Washington, DC. Payne was discovered unconscious and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency medical services responded to the scene but determined that Payne showed no signs of life. His body was subsequently transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
