In the morning hours of a late summer day, 27-year-old Kajuan Deris Young, a male resident of Southwest Washington, D.C., was fatally wounded by gunfire. The incident occurred around 11 a.m. on Friday, September 21, 2018, in the 900 block of 3rd Street SW, a location not far from the Southwest Neighborhood Library. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene where they found Young suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
