In the pre-dawn hours of Saturday, August 7, 2021, a burst of gunfire shattered the quiet in the 600 block of 53rd Street, Southeast, in Washington, D.C. When the chaos subsided, 20-year-old Juwaun Williams was found suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency services rushed him to a local hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal. He was a young man whose life was cut tragically short in an act of violence that remains unresolved.
