On May 26, 2024, at approximately 4:30 a.m., Birmingham Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting at the intersection of 10th Street West and Graymont Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered a vehicle off the roadway containing two women, both suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to local hospitals, where 19-year-old Mya Parker was pronounced deceased. The second woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
