In June 1981, 25-year-old Malai Larsen, a dancer from Palmer, Alaska, disappeared under mysterious circumstances. Her absence went largely unnoticed until her remains were discovered on April 24, 1984, near the Old Knik Bridge parking area. This location was one of several marked on a map belonging to Robert Hansen, a notorious serial killer known as the "Butcher Baker."
