On August 7, 2023, 33-year-old D'Arcy Jamere Joseph was fatally shot in Birmingham, Alabama. At approximately 8:41 p.m., officers from the Birmingham Police Department's East Precinct responded to reports of shots fired in the 5000 block of 41st Way North. Upon arrival, they discovered Joseph unresponsive inside a parked vehicle in an alleyway, suffering from a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel pronounced him deceased at the scene.
