On the evening of Thursday, April 6, 2023, a sense of grim familiarity washed over the 1400 block of Brighton Road in Birmingham, Alabama. Responding to a call of a person shot at approximately 9:30 PM, West Precinct officers arrived to a scene that would soon become another homicide investigation in the city.
