On April 1, 2023, 17-year-old Kamaree Shondale Phillips was fatally shot at the Magnolia Court Apartments in Birmingham, Alabama. At approximately 4:10 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to reports of a person shot at #3 Westchester Court. Upon arrival, they found Phillips lying outside a vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to St. Vincent’s East Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
