Death by Force

On October 6, 2023, at approximately 1:12 a.m., a Birmingham Police Department officer patrolling the 800 block of 2nd Avenue North heard gunshots and responded to the scene. Upon arrival, the officer discovered three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds in a parking lot near a local business. The victims were identified as 22-year-old Jjuan Cole of Birmingham, 27-year-old Dyron Malik Mays-Perry of Midfield, and an adult female whose identity was not disclosed.
