On the evening of March 20, 2023, at approximately 9:15 PM, Birmingham Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting at a residence in the 500 block of Buffalo Street in the Wylam neighborhood. Upon arrival, they discovered 42-year-old Kenneth Earl Harris Jr. inside the home, suffering from a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel transported Harris to UAB Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries early the following morning.
