On March 14, 2023, 40-year-old Jason Joseph Brown was found deceased alongside his fiancée, 40-year-old Tiffany Michele Hernandez, in their Birmingham, Alabama, residence located in the 8400 block of 8th Avenue South. Both individuals had sustained fatal gunshot wounds. The discovery was made after Daniel P. Watson, a 28-year-old from Pell City, approached a Leeds police officer around 6 a.m., confessing to the killings in Birmingham as well as two additional homicides in Ragland, Alabama.
