On March 21, 2023, at approximately 12:45 p.m., 48-year-old Michael Kimbrough was fatally shot in the 5900 block of Jesse Owens Avenue in Birmingham, Alabama. West Precinct officers responded to reports of a person shot and discovered Kimbrough lying unresponsive in the roadway, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived and pronounced him deceased at the scene.
