On August 13, 2023, 26-year-old Birmingham resident Tommie Lee Brown was found deceased in a ditch near the intersection of 50th Street Southwest and Park Avenue Southwest. A passerby discovered his body around 6:37 a.m. and alerted authorities. Upon arrival, Birmingham Police officers found Brown unresponsive; Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel pronounced him dead at the scene at 6:45 a.m.
