In the fall of 2023, the city of Birmingham was coming to terms with an ever-increasing count of violent crimes. On the morning of Friday, October 27th, a concerning discovery added to the city's grim statistics. A community member in the Riley neighborhood noticed a person lying unresponsive off the roadway in the 3900 block of Walnut Avenue SW and promptly contacted emergency services.
