On July 16, 2023, 61-year-old Moses Clenton Thomas was involved in a fatal vehicle collision at the intersection of 24th Street and 5th Avenue South in Birmingham's Southside neighborhood. The incident occurred when another driver, operating a stolen vehicle, collided with Thomas's car, resulting in his death.
