Lekilo Mason Cummings, a 33-year-old man from Birmingham, Alabama, was fatally shot on July 2, 2023, in what is being investigated as a homicide. The incident occurred in the western part of the city, in a neighborhood where local authorities had been dealing with rising concerns over violent crime.
