On July 23, 2023, at approximately 8:50 PM, Birmingham Police Department officers stationed at Railroad Park, located at 1600 1st Avenue South, responded to reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered 28-year-old Morgan Tyree Martin, a resident of Marietta, Georgia, suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical services transported Martin to UAB Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
