On May 11, 2023, 37-year-old Erskin Irvin Jr. was fatally shot in Birmingham, Alabama. At approximately 9:50 p.m., North Precinct officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 1400 block of 33rd Street North. Upon arrival, they discovered Irvin inside a vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound; he was pronounced deceased at the scene by Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel.
