On June 30, 2023, at approximately 12:55 a.m., Birmingham police responded to a call at the Forest Hills Village apartment complex on Tempest Drive SW, where 3-year-old Kayden Goldman had suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The child was transported to Children's of Alabama hospital and pronounced dead at 1:55 a.m.
