On September 28, 2023, the skeletal remains of Darrius Dewayne Brown, a 33-year-old man from Birmingham, Alabama, were discovered in a residential alley along Tuscaloosa Avenue in the city's Arlington-West End neighborhood. The remains were found by a passerby, and subsequent forensic analysis confirmed Brown's identity through dental records. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office determined that Brown had been shot, classifying his death as a homicide.
