On December 30, 2023, at approximately 1:33 p.m., 77-year-old Stephen A. Keith Jr. was involved in a motor vehicle accident in the 9300 block of Parkway East in Birmingham, Alabama. Responding officers discovered Keith suffering from injuries initially attributed to the collision. He was transported to UAB Hospital, where medical staff identified a life-threatening gunshot wound. Despite medical efforts, Keith was pronounced deceased at 9:44 p.m.
