On June 17, 2023, 71-year-old Eugene Holiday was fatally shot inside his residence in the 4700 block of Avenue T, Birmingham, Alabama. Shortly after 1 p.m., West Precinct officers responded to reports of shots fired and discovered Holiday unresponsive with a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel pronounced him deceased at the scene.
