On June 20, 2023, at approximately 8:50 p.m., Birmingham Police Department officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 900 block of 25th Street Southwest. Upon arrival, they discovered 24-year-old Jarvis Jerome Conley Jr. lying next to a vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel pronounced him deceased at the scene. An adult female victim was also found nearby with a gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
