On June 19, 2022, at approximately 1:55 PM, Birmingham Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 5900 block of Warner Street. Upon arrival, they discovered 22-year-old Justin Jai Brown lying unresponsive on the sidewalk, suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel transported him to UAB Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
