On January 3, 2017, 34-year-old Randale Lamar Oden was fatally shot at The Oaks Apartments on Earline Circle in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident began with an argument between Oden and his ex-girlfriend at another apartment within the complex, during which Oden assaulted her.
