On a tragic day in Birmingham, Alabama, the life of 33-year-old Kebbie Burke, an African American woman, was cut short. On March 30, 2008, her body was discovered inside a house that had been set ablaze in the 1900 block of 15th Court North in the Druid Hills neighborhood. The circumstances of her death were immediately deemed a homicide by the Birmingham police.
