On August 18, 2018, 49-year-old Mia Lashone Heard was found unresponsive in her Birmingham, Alabama, home on 34th Street North. Responding to a report of a person suffering from a gunshot wound around 1:30 a.m., Birmingham police officers discovered Heard inside the residence. She was pronounced dead at the scene by the coroner.
