In the early evening of December 16, 2019, a dispute at a convenience store in Birmingham, Alabama, tragically escalated, leading to the death of Cheri Lashunda Twilley, a 47-year-old Black female. The incident began with a confrontation between Twilley and a suspect at the store. Shortly after, as Twilley and her son were stopped at a stop sign in the 1600 block of Tuscaloosa Avenue, the suspect fired into their vehicle.
