On January 5, 2020, 32-year-old Stacey Flournoy was fatally shot in Birmingham, Alabama, marking the city's first homicide of the year. The incident occurred around 10 p.m. in the Inglenook neighborhood. Birmingham Police officers, while on patrol, heard gunfire and responded to a call reporting a person shot at 3838 39th Court North.
