On the evening of June 20, 2024, 26-year-old Nakita Nicole Walker of Hoover, Alabama, was fatally shot in Birmingham. At approximately 10:15 p.m., Birmingham Police Department officers responded to a report of a person shot at a residence in the 700 block of New Hill Court. Upon arrival, they discovered Walker lying unresponsive on an exterior staircase. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel pronounced her deceased at the scene.
