On July 7, 2007, 23-year-old Latorya Johnson, who was pregnant at the time, was found shot to death in her Birmingham, Alabama home. Authorities quickly took her boyfriend, David Lockett, into custody for questioning.
Subsequent investigations led to Lockett being charged with manslaughter. He was convicted and sentenced to five years in prison for the fatal shooting of Johnson.
