In the summer of 2017, the life of 33-year-old Stephanie Nichole 'Nikki' Loyde was tragically cut short in Birmingham, Alabama. On the evening of July 30th, Loyde was shot and killed outside her home. Another man, Luther Ikner, was also shot during the incident but survived his injuries. The violent act left Loyde's 11-year-old daughter without her mother and a community in shock.
The investigation into the senseless killing led authorities to 27-year-old Quandarius Frazier.
In a significant development in the case, Frazier was arrested and charged with the murder of Loyde and the attempted murder of Ikner. The motive behind the shooting was not immediately made public, but the evidence presented during the trial painted a clear picture for the jury.
On March 8, 2019, a Jefferson County jury found Quandarius Frazier guilty of both the murder of Stephanie Loyde and the attempted murder of Luther Ikner.
