In a tragic turn of events on a February afternoon in Birmingham, Alabama, a dispute between two women over a shared connection to a man ended in the death of Iesha Mayhand, age 24. The conflict arose when Mayhand went to the home of Josalyn Nicole Evans. Mayhand was seeking out Patrick Lewis, the father of her baby, to ask for money for diapers. Lewis was in a relationship with Evans at the time.
