On the night of August 3, 2019, Birmingham police responded to a report of a shooting at 819 30th Street South. Upon arrival, they found 28-year-old Jameria Howard lying unresponsive in the parking lot, suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to UAB Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
