In the fall of 2008, the life of George Rufus Boatman, a 44-year-old Caucasian male from Leeds, Alabama, was tragically cut short. On October 28, 2008, Boatman was in Birmingham, where he became the victim of a fatal shooting. His body was discovered the following day in the parking lot of the Town Suites located on Huffman Road.
