In the early hours of a Friday morning in Birmingham, Alabama, a dispute inside a nightclub escalated to a fatal conclusion, leaving two men dead. The incident occurred on May 24, 2024, at The Quest Club located in the 400 block of 24th Street South. Terrance Terrell Brown, Jr., a 32-year-old male, was identified as one of the individuals who lost his life in the altercation.
Birmingham Police officers responded to a call about a possible shootout at the nightclub around 6:30 a.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered that two men had been shot. Patrons and officers at the scene attempted to render aid to the victims. Brown was pronounced dead at the location. The second man involved in the incident, 32-year-old Shane Gady, was transported to UAB Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Gady ultimately succumbed to his injuries and died on Sunday, May 26.
Investigators have determined that Brown and Gady shot each other following a physical altercation inside the club.
