In the early evening of January 15, 2026, the life of 38-year-old Jawaun Scruggs, a male resident of Augusta, Georgia, was tragically cut short. Responding to a call, deputies from the Richmond County Sheriff's Office discovered Scruggs in the 600 block of East Boundary, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The county coroner was summoned to the scene and pronounced him dead at 8:37 p.m., turning a local street into the center of a homicide investigation.
