On the late afternoon of Sunday, October 12, 2025, law enforcement officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to the northeast side of Indianapolis, Indiana, following reports of a person shot. Approximately around 5:15 p.m., responding units arrived at the 6100 block of Dickson Road, located near the intersection of North Arlington Avenue and East 46th Street.
Upon arrival, police discovered a wounded individual inside a residence who had sustained injuries consistent with gunfire.
The victim was identified as Torrey Lamar Pargo, a 38-year-old Black male from Indianapolis. Emergency medical personnel transported him to a local hospital in critical condition, where he subsequently succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. The Marion County Coroner’s Office later ruled the death a homicide. Investigators at the scene recovered a firearm and began collecting evidence to determine the sequence of events leading up to the fatal shooting.
Preliminary information released by authorities suggested that the violence stemmed from a verbal altercation between two individuals who were acquainted with one another. Police detained one person at the scene for questioning in the immediate aftermath of the incident. However, after further consultation with the Marion County Prosecutor's Office, that individual was released pending further investigation, and no formal charges were immediately filed. Detectives continued to appeal to the public for any information regarding the circumstances of the argument and the subsequent shooting as the case remained active.
