On the evening of Saturday, February 1, 2025, in Lafayette, Louisiana, 15-year-old Tameron Willis was walking home, mindful of his 8 o'clock curfew. Tragically, he would never make it. At approximately 7:15 p.m., in the 200 block of Arthur Street, Tameron was struck by gunfire and died at the scene. His father, Daniel Montgomery, believes his son was an innocent victim caught in the crossfire as he was walking home from a friend's house.
Tameron was a male who attended Lafayette Middle School and Lafayette High School.
The Lafayette Police Department began an immediate investigation, canvassing the neighborhood for witnesses and any information that could lead to those responsible for the young man's death. Their efforts led to the identification and subsequent arrest of two individuals in connection with the fatal shooting. The first arrest was of 26-year-old Markeisha Lawrence of Lafayette. She was taken into custody and booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.
Shortly after, a second arrest was made. Aerial Biagas, 17, was also apprehended by law enforcement. Both Lawrence and Biagas are facing serious charges for their alleged involvement in the death of Tameron Willis. The charges filed against them include one count of second-degree murder and one count of illegal discharge of a firearm. In addition to these charges, Biagas also faces counts of illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile and resisting an officer. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing as authorities continue to piece together the events that led to the untimely death of the teenager.
