Michael Thomas, a 54-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on May 7, 2019, in Lafayette, Louisiana. The incident occurred late at night when Lafayette Police responded to reports of shots fired at a local park on Edison Street. Upon arrival, officers found Michael Thomas suffering from a gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
