On February 22, 2023, a fatal shooting occurred in Lafayette, Louisiana, resulting in the death of 27-year-old Abilio Waldermar Bravo Lopez. The incident took place just after midnight in the 200 block of Verdun Street, where Lafayette Police responded to a report of a shooting in progress.
