In the early morning hours of May 27, 2015, the life of 26-year-old Brandon Lyons was tragically cut short in Lafayette, Louisiana. Deputies from the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the 300 block of Marigny Circle around 4 a.m. after receiving a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Lyons lying in the doorway of an apartment, the victim of a fatal gunshot wound.
The investigation into the shooting quickly pointed to a suspect.
Detectives identified Jeremy James Authorlee of Opelousas as the individual allegedly responsible for Lyons' death. In a swift apprehension, Authorlee was located in Plaquemines Parish as he was preparing to board a helicopter for his offshore job.
Following his apprehension, Jeremy James Authorlee was arrested and subsequently booked on one count of second-degree murder in connection with the death of Brandon Lyons.
