On August 22, 2023, 18-year-old Deniro Ja'Shon Broussard of Lafayette, Louisiana, lost his life in a fatal shooting. The incident occurred around 10:33 p.m. in the 100 block of Shirley Picard Road, where Broussard was walking with a relative when the shooting took place.
