Phillip Francis Jr., 44, a Black/African American man, was killed on Friday, August 22, 2025, after gunfire erupted during an argument at the WoodSpring Suites on the 200 block of Hugh Wallis Road in Lafayette, Louisiana. Officers were called around mid-afternoon and found Francis dead at the scene.
