On November 9, 2024, a fatal shooting occurred in the 400 block of East University Avenue in Lafayette, Louisiana, resulting in the deaths of two individuals, including Jamir Carmouche. Carmouche, 24 years old and a resident of Lafayette, was one of the victims who lost their lives in this incident. The other deceased victim was identified as Corey Mouton, 26, from Carencro.
