John Mitchell Sinegal Jr., a 23-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on April 9, 2021, in Lafayette, Louisiana. The incident occurred at Bourgeois Park, located near the University of Louisiana at Lafayette campus. According to reports, the shooting took place around 2:11 a.m. when an argument broke out during a basketball game. Sinegal was transported to Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
