In a tragic incident on the evening of Saturday, January 10, 2026, a young life was cut short in Lafayette, Louisiana. Four-year-old Blaze Rubin died after being shot inside a residence in the 100 block of Lena Street. The Lafayette Police Department responded to a call about a child being shot shortly before 6 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found the young boy with a gunshot wound. Blaze was transported to a local hospital where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
